step 1 
free talk … t: we have lessons in the classroom, but today we have this lesson in the meeting room. ss: yes. t: is classroom big? ss: yes, it is. t: is meeting room big? ss: yes, it is. t: is classroom big or meeting room big? ss: meeting room. t: so classroom is big and meeting room is large.(出示large卡片)学生跟读并组短语。 ss: a large meeting room, a large sitting-room etc. (评析:这位老师的聪明之处在于能就地取材。用谈话导入法,利用学生周边的环境与学生对话,就已经学过的句型以旧带新,导入新课。) 
step 2 
1.多媒体出示上课学校图片。 t: a large school. is it new/beautiful? ss: yes. it’s a new school. i’m in a new school. t: i think the school is near your house. ss: yes, it’s near my house. t: so you live near your school.教授live. 2.多媒体出示classroom, playground, building的图片。 t: what’s in/on…? ss: there is /are… in /on…(学生练说) 
3.t: is there a swing in your school? ss: no, there isn’t a… t: but there is a swing in my school. t出示自己学校的图片 t: what’s in/on…? ss: there is /are… in /on…(学生练说) t用多媒体把刚刚学生说的话以整篇课文的形式呈现出来,学生看文巩固there is /are…句型。 4.t 出示她办公室的图片。 t: what’s in/on…? ss: there is /are… in /on…(学生练说) t用多媒体把刚刚学生说的话以整篇课文的形式呈现出来,学生看文巩固there is /are…句型。 (评析:教师用电教手段创设情景化的教学环境。现代学习理论认为学习发生的最佳情境不应是简单抽象的,只有在真实的情境中才能激发学习者的兴趣、探索精神和学习毅力,使学习变得更为有效。学习的目的不仅仅是要让学生懂得某些知识,而且要让学生能真正灵活地运用所学知识去解决现实生活中的问题。 
当代信息科技的发展使得教育技术走进了校园,多媒体形象、直观、大容量的特点是课堂教学变得生动活泼、丰富多彩,大大促进了学生思维能力的发展,借助多媒体把现实生活中的情景展现出来,形象逼真、生动有趣,贴近学生心理,能吸引他们积极参与教学活动,提高学习兴趣。) 
step 3 
1. t shows a box. ss guess what’s in the box. ss: is there a…? / are there any…? t: there are some boxes in my box. a small one, a big one and a large one.(在活动中还考虑到复习新授的内容) 
   what’s in these boxes? ss: ss: is there a…? / are there any…? t根据ss 猜测逐个出示盒中的物品,并把猜中的东西奖给同学。 some apples, some balls, some sweets.(这一步起了抛砖引玉的作用,吸引学生进行进一步的猜测活动。) 
2.as ss guess, t shows a picture of a new house which is in the box.(前面猜的一系列活动都是为这一步作准备的。) 
t: whose house? ss: yang ling and her parents’. t: yes, parents mean father and mother. parent means father or mother. t & ss: yang ling and her parents live in a new house now. 3.repeat the step to teach “a map of the world”. (评析:在教师的指导下,根据学生的需要和英语学习上的存在问题,英语课堂上抽出一定的时间有目的、有计划、有针对性地进行英语教学游戏,是非常有意义的。
