教材分析
本单元的主要内容是询问街道上某一场所的位置，能阐述某一场所各个建筑之间的位置关系，并能够为他人指明去某地的路线。通过这一话题，训练学生的听、说、读、写四项基本技能，让学生通过询问场所的位置，学习一些有关地点场所的单词，以及进一步学习方位介词next to, across from, near, between 等的用法；学习并掌握where引导的特殊疑问句及问答，并能陈述某一场所的位置。
教学重点
a. 方位介词: in, on, under, behind, in front of, near 等的用法；
b.能够运用where问句找到物品的位置；
c. 新单词：bed, dresser, table, bookcase, backpack……
教学难点
a. 能够准确运用方位介词描述物品所在的位置；
b.where 的特殊疑问句和一般疑问句的肯定、否定回答；
教学方法
采用任务型语言教学，实施情景教学法、交际法、情感激励法等教学方法。

教学设计
step one play a game
the teacher say“up”, the students stand up, the teacher say“down”, the students sit down, the teacher say“left”, the students raise left hand, the teacher say“right”, the students raise right hand.
设计意图：用游戏的方式复习介词的用法，训练学生的反应能力。
step two review words
1 present picture on ppt , let ss spell them.
2 write down the name of places. eg, park,pay phone,school,post office…
let one student write on the blackboard. then read them out.
设计意图：用放射图复习关于地点的词汇，让学生去黑板上写，并由学生领读，主动权完全交给学生。
step three describe “where is he/she?”
two students come to the front and act out their positions, the other ss review “ next to, behind, across from, in front of, between …and…
设计意图：运用实际的位置关系，生动复习表示位置关系的介词短语。
