——Book Review of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer The novel , The Adventures of Tom Sawyer , was one of the most famous and representative novels written by mark twain . It has a wide range of readers around all over the world. This novel describes how a boy called Tom Sawyer who wants to establish his own fame and achievements and is being fettered by tradition breaks the bondage of family , region and the stereotype education system . He keeps looking for the freedom and romance which cannot be discovered in daily life from games and adventures . This is a story full of adventures and energy . Tom , to some extent , reflects the shadows of author's childhood . Tom and huck are children that completely different from others at that time . They are two of the only children who have justice , kindness , courage and strong self-esteem . But just these children , who are regarded as rude and mischievous by other people around them , become cute , wise , brave , energetic and helpful in mark twain's eyes. We can see that Tom and Huck cannot stand all the unbearable rules and they are against reading books without using them in practice and hates the rigid discipline of society . What they are pursuing is freedom and adventures that are fit for their age ,their young and playing age . They realize their life ideals of freedom, relaxation and puerility by playing the roles of pirates , robbers and experiencing imaginative life . Mark twain depicted the inner world of children with full of deep passion and optimism . The children are so vivid and with souls . I find myself also losing in the author's world with a heart of passion and happiness. And it makes me recall my childhood . Every time I think of my previous time as a child , the beautiful time , just like a nice dream , always makes me so sorry and plaint the flying of time and the change of the world around me . It has been too hard for me to search for the pure childhood which has forever left me and only in the very deep of my memory , and what is left is only the sweet and smiling faces of my children friends' ... I believe , no matter how hard your childhood may seem , it will never let you down when you recall the unforgettable memories , right ? So as the saying goes , childhood is like a jar of wine , the longer it lasts , the more fragrant it tastes ... And besides all above , the author wrote in a way of humor to satire various kinds of people in society and tackle a lot of social evils . Satires and humors are two of the most typical characteristics in this thorough novel . It reveals the darkness and the oppression of society at that time . It truly tells people what integrity is , what courage is . And it makes me think of the classical movie , Scent of a Woman . Just as Charlie , hero of the film Sent of a Woman , Tom's soul is intact . And that is what a human being should be made of . And also as charlie , Tom chooses a right path which is made of principle and leads to character . Tom is the very child , who completely obeys his own principle , regardless of what others who we may see as villains remark on him . He is not reckless , he is on his road to his bright future with truth and sunshine . And that is exactly why Tom is different from others . There is no prosthetic for soul . An amputated spirit is the most dreadful in the world . So , let's embrace the spirit of Tom's to feel the purest soul !! I've read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer many times (of course written in Chinese). Every time I read it , I lose myself in the world of the story , and I can learn something new . This book is just like an infinite resource that you will never find it empty . It's the unity of individuality and rationality .No matter when you open this book , you will be deeply attracted by the exciting plot and the unique characters . I think I will cherish what I have learned from this book forever and use them to change my life !
